Business Registration

Philippines is one of the hardest places on earth to start up a business. There are a lot of things to consider; your product or service, supplier, target market, marketing, investment, management and if those things aren’t enough, the Philippine government requires you to register tons of permits, notarize articles, pass numerous clearances and pay a lot of fees.

1. Barangay Clearance and City or Municipal Business Permit
These permits are pre-requisites to other Licenses and Clearances. Cost may vary from different barangays.

2. DTI (Department Of Trade and Industry)
Reserve your business or company name with the DTI (Department Of Trade and Industry) if you are a sole proprietor.

3. SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission)
Reserve your business or company name with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) if your business is a Partnership or Corporation.

4. BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue)
Issue a Certificate of Registration (COR) and TIN and have your books of accounts and Printer’s Certificate of Delivery (PCD) stamped by the BIR to obtain the juridical right to print receipts and bills or charge from the BIR.

5. PEZA (Philippine Economic Zone Authority)
Pass all the domestic requirements of PEZA (Philippine Economic Zone Authority) to obtain a tax holiday or tax reduction or elimination for the next 4-6 years.

6. BOI (Board of Investments)
Pass all the export requirements of BOI (Board of Investments) to obtain a tax holiday or tax reduction or elimination for the next 4-6 years.
